Tiana

Female · Puppy · 5 months

Tiana is a big pup who doesn't quite know what to do with or where to put herself! She was found as a stray at such a young age so we know nothing about her. She certainly lacks confidence which is understandable, and we're hoping to find her a loving family that will give her a better start to life than the one she's had. Tiana is very excitable and loves attention, but she's a little wary of new people and should be allowed to approach them for a sniff before being petted. A similar approach to other dogs will be need, as Tiana is undersocialised and doesn't know what to do. A rowdy dog coming at her won't be appreciated, but a gentle friend who will allow her to investigate them would be nice for her, and we feel she could live with a well matched one after a few meets. Tiana can live with other dogs and children of upper primary age, though they will need to be confident around dogs as she jumps up a lot. We have no history for her and she's likely to need all her basic training, as well as someone with her most of the day.

About Tiana

What life with Tiana looks like

Tiana is a large puppy/kitten dog waiting at Dogs Trust Merseyside in Liverpool.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tiana, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tiana?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Merseyside handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tiana on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tiana if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Merseyside will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tiana already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tiana isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Merseyside early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tiana and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
