Tifa

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 4 years

Tifa Malinoise Born on 28/02/2022 Arrived on 11/09/2025 Her Story Tifa had a real family life. She lived happily with a couple and their child. After a separation, her owner found himself without a place to live and unfortunately could not keep her. Tifa's personality is that of a very affectionate, gentle, and endearing dog. She appreciates calm and soothing environments where she can feel safe. She is clean and easy to live with in a house, creating a strong bond with her family and naturally protective towards those she loves. She loves walks and discovery moments shared with humans she trusts. Behind her kennel... and beyond At the shelter, behind her kennel, Tifa can impress: facing an unknown person, she may show her teeth. This behavior is linked to stress and fear of the shelter context. It is important to note: this is not the real Tifa. As soon as she meets someone outside her kennel, especially on walks, the change is total: Tifa relaxes, is very nice, affectionate, attentive, and obedient. The first approach may be a bit scary, but once the meeting is done differently and with time, she reveals herself to be a lovely dog. Her small sensitivities Tifa is a sensitive dog, especially towards cars, cyclists, joggers... Socialization and work still need to be done, at her pace, with patience and kindness. She is therefore not a "plug-and-play" dog, but she has enormous potential and evolves very quickly. Her Ideal Home Tifa is looking for a home: patient and attentive, capable of understanding her fears and needs, ready to offer her stability, gentleness, and trust. There is no perfect or pre-determined home for her: what will matter most is the quality of the relationship and respect for her pace. Ententes OK Children Entente Dogs: to be tested Cats:

About Tifa

What life with Tifa looks like

Tifa is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at A.I.M.A.A. - Refuge d in Épernay cedex.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tifa, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tifa?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. A.I.M.A.A. - Refuge d handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tifa on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tifa if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — A.I.M.A.A. - Refuge d will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tifa already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tifa isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with A.I.M.A.A. - Refuge d early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tifa and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
