Tiger

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 12 years

Tiger – A Friendly, Outdoorsy 12-Year-Old Looking for a Peaceful Home Tiger is a striking, friendly 12yearold boy who enjoys human company, though he prefers affection on his own terms. He’s not a lap cat — he’s more the type who likes to sit beside you and just be nearby. He is happiest with space, choice, and a calm routine. He is neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. He lived with an elderly gentleman who adored him but sadly had to be given up when his owner’s health declined. After three months in a local cattery, Tiger came to ABC Animal Sanctuary for a fresh start. Tiger is now ready for a quiet, experienced home where he can settle gently and feel secure. He needs outdoor access, as exploring and relaxing outside is one of his favourite things. Tiger would suit: • A calm, adultonly home • Someone confident and experienced with cats • A home without dogs • Ideally the only pet, though he may suit one very calm, steady cat. If you feel you can offer this lovely boy the safe, understanding home he deserves, please get in touch. Arrange a meeting and come say hello to Tiger.

About Tiger

What life with Tiger looks like

Tiger is a senior mixed breed cat waiting at Alexandra Bastedo (Champions) Animal Sanctuary Limited in United Kingdom.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tiger, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tiger?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Alexandra Bastedo (Champions) Animal Sanctuary Limited handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tiger on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tiger if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Alexandra Bastedo (Champions) Animal Sanctuary Limited will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Tiger already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tiger isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Alexandra Bastedo (Champions) Animal Sanctuary Limited early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tiger and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
