Elsa

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Adult · 6 years

As you can see I’m a very special little poppet as I’m very proud to say that I have kicked cancers ass at 6 years old. I had a home which got turned upside down and was made to live in a garden. Apparently my previous owners didn’t notice the brown spots that completely covered my ears!! which is a little hard to believe if you ask me. Anyway they wanted me gone as I could be a little temperamental. Maybe just maybe because I was in pain. I was driven down to foster and and whisked of to the vets who said that they had caught it early but it was “off with my ears”. I’m pleased to report that they got everything and as you can see I’m now rocking my new look. I have been taking time to heal both physically and mentally and now my wonderful foster family feel I’m ready for my very own home. Isn’t this exciting, so let me tell you a little bit about me........ I like a good fuss, but only for a short amount of time once I have learned that your a fabulous hooman and you won’t hurt me. I’m particle to a head massage but please do mind my ears. I’m not keen on anyone that might be a little rough and I will put them in their place with a little swipe. Now I have to say I like a lap and sitting next to you. I really am a fabulous companion. I adore food and treats but I will need a little time to adjust and learn to trust you but I’m sure we will be best friends in no time.

About Elsa

What life with Elsa looks like

Elsa is an adult mixed breed cat waiting at Catitude Cat Rescue in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Elsa, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Elsa?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Catitude Cat Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Elsa on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Elsa if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Catitude Cat Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Elsa already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Elsa isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Catitude Cat Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Elsa and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
