TIGRIS

European Shorthair · Female · Senior · 15 years

TIGRIS is a lovely European cat who has everything to become a wonderful companion. Clean, sociable and relatively easy-going, she can thrive in an apartment and doesn't need a garden to be happy. She tolerates solitude, which may suit adopters with an active lifestyle, provided they offer her affection, presence, and playtime daily. TIGRIS also seems compatible with other cats and dogs, a great asset for a family already having pets. Car rides or transportation don't seem to be a problem for her. Her compatibility with children remains to be confirmed. A visit to the shelter will allow you to see if the bond forms smoothly. The ideal home for TIGRIS will be loving, calm, and respectful of her rhythm, with people ready to offer her security, tenderness, and a real place in their hearts. If you want to offer her the life she deserves, contact us ONLY by phone at 02 204 49 50. We will be happy to talk to you about her and arrange a meeting. Adoption is only possible with a "permit to keep an animal" for people who are domiciled in Wallonia.

About TIGRIS

What life with TIGRIS looks like

TIGRIS is a senior european shorthair cat waiting at Help Animals in Brussels.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

🇧🇪Adopting from Belgium

Belgian shelters operate under regional law (Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels each have their own rules). All adoptions include the Eurochip, vaccinations, and a stewardship contract. Several Flemish shelters partner with Dutch and German rescue networks.

Frequently asked

Adopting TIGRIS, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about TIGRIS?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Help Animals handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw TIGRIS on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt TIGRIS if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Help Animals will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is TIGRIS already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if TIGRIS isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Help Animals early rather than rehoming privately; they know TIGRIS and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
