Tilly

Cockapoo · Female · Adult · 5 years

Meet Tilly! Tilly is a lovely Cockapoo who, once she gets to know you, is a very sweet and affectionate girl. She enjoys building a bond with her people and can be a wonderful companion once she feels comfortable and settled. Tilly can be worried when meeting people she doesn't know and will need time and patience to feel at ease. She can also be vocal around some dogs, so her new owners will need to understand her boundaries and allow her to approach new experiences at her own pace. Tilly will need to be the only pet in the home, as she cannot live with other dogs or cats. Due to her worried nature, she cannot live with children. She will also need her own private, secure garden and would prefer a home away from the inner city. Tilly has come a long way with her behaviour, but her training and management will need to continue in her new home. Due to the range and complexity of behaviours she has shown, she is looking for experienced owners who have dealt with reactivity around dogs or people and/or resource guarding. Her new family will need to be patient, consistent and committed to helping her continue building her confidence. With the right experienced owners, Tilly has lots of love to give and will make a wonderful companion! If you have already completed our online rehoming form and would like to know more about Tilly, you can e-mail our rehoming team on to register your interest. tch for the dog in question.

About Tilly

What life with Tilly looks like

Tilly is a medium-sized adult cockapoo dog waiting at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tilly, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tilly?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tilly on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tilly if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tilly already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tilly isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tilly and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
