Adopt Tilo

European Shorthair · Male · Adult · 5 years

Tilo is a sweet home-bred cat who survived on the streets, begging for love and food from passersby, after surely having been abandoned. He arrived full of bites and scratches, underweight, with diarrhea, and dermatitis—all of which he recovered from with the care and love of his foster care home. However, he has a hip injury, perhaps from a hit-and-run, that is currently (April 2022) being evaluated for surgery. Tilo is a kind, grateful, affectionate, purring cat, still a bit cautious of loud noises, after all he has endured. Additionally, he has beautiful green eyes; just look at him! He gets along well with all adult humans or children who want to love him and with cats (without testing with dogs). If you want to adopt this king into your family, ask us about him, ask about the good and sweet Tilo: he deserves all the love. ??¡Ah! And you can follow him on Instagram. Contact: 667849696 – 657961568 www.protectoradepalencia.org ????Photos of Tilo: Search for him on Instagram: and give him a follow! If you can't take him in or adopt, help us spread the word, share, give a like… You never know which "share" will lead to his home.

About Tilo

What life with Tilo looks like

Tilo is a adult european shorthair cat waiting at Protectora Defensa Animal Palentina in Spain.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tilo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tilo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Protectora Defensa Animal Palentina handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tilo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tilo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Protectora Defensa Animal Palentina will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tilo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tilo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Protectora Defensa Animal Palentina early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tilo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
