Adopt TINI

Galgo Español · Female · Adult · 6 years

A TINI and Charlie are 6 years old and have a very simple request: to stay together. They grew up side by side, always with people, but outdoors. Life changed, the family moved into an apartment and could no longer keep them. And so, without any fault of their own, they lost everything they knew. They are two sweet, calm, and extremely gentle galgos. They love children, know how to walk on a leash. They don't like cats. Above all, they have each other. That bond is all they have left, and separating them would be unthinkable, too cruel. They have already lost their family, we cannot take away the love that binds them. Our greatest dream is to give them what they have never had: a real home. A place where they can be house dogs, feel the warmth of a sofa, receive treats, share their days, and discover what it means to have company. We want them to know what it’s like to belong, to sleep peacefully knowing someone is there for them. We won’t give up until we find the right family for the TINI and Charlie. If your heart aches as you read this, maybe it’s because they are waiting for you. Help us find that home, even through a share. They will be delivered vaccinated, dewormed, sterilized, and microchipped.

Read original (pt)

About TINI

What life with TINI looks like

TINI is a medium-sized adult galgo español dog waiting at O Cantinho da Milu in Lisbon.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Must be adopted together with Charlie - bonded pair

🇵🇹Adopting from Portugal

Portuguese rescues coordinate extensively with European rescue networks for cross-border placements, especially for galgos and podencos. Sterilization, vaccinations, and microchip ID are standard. Adoption fees typically cover the full vet workup.

Frequently asked

Adopting TINI, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about TINI?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. O Cantinho da Milu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw TINI on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt TINI if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — O Cantinho da Milu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is TINI already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if TINI isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with O Cantinho da Milu early rather than rehoming privately; they know TINI and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PT). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
