Adopt Tinka

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 9 years

Profile: Born around June 2021, Gender: female, Spayed: yes, Personality: friendly, lively, affectionate, initially reserved but very curious and charming towards strangers, gets along with fellow animals, Size: approx. 50 cm, In shelter since: December 2021, Distinction: burn scar on the nose O zi buna! This means "good day" in Romanian, because I am currently at home in Romania. As a puppy, I roamed the streets, but then kind people rescued me and took me into their shelter. This was several years ago. The burn mark on my nose suggests that I probably lived with people before. Such burns, due to an old superstition, are often seen in Romania, especially in rural areas. It was said that these marks could prevent illnesses. Crazy, these people… Nonetheless, I am a friendly and cheerful female dog with an extraordinary coat pattern. I enjoy playing with my fellow animals and exploring the world, but I have become a bit more calm than I was in my wild puppy days. I am curious and interested in new things, but I also take my time to get to know my surroundings. People who want to discover life step by step with me are exactly the right ones for me. I bring joy, charm, and a good dose of enthusiasm – and I wish for a home where I can show all of that. If you are interested in Tinka, please fill out our application form () or send us an email or a message on Facebook. Tinka is ready to travel and can travel to Germany with the next transport. Our dogs travel legally with Traces. Traces refers to the database system that monitors the entire animal transport within the EU. The dogs travel neutered (if old enough), vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed, and have an EU passport. Additionally, for dogs over 12 months old, a rapid test for the following Mediterranean diseases is conducted before travel arrangements: Lyme disease, Anaplasmosis, Ehrlichiosis, Dirofilariasis, and leishmaniasis. Stefanie E. has taken the paternity for Tinka and ensures a full plate. Many thanks on behalf of the dogs!. This is a young, adolescent dog. Gets along with other dogs.

Man sagt, solche Brandmale sollen Krankheiten vorbeugen.

About Tinka

What life with Tinka looks like

Tinka is a medium-sized senior mixed breed dog waiting at Seelen für Seelchen e.V. in Alfter.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tinka, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tinka?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Seelen für Seelchen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tinka on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tinka if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Seelen für Seelchen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tinka already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tinka isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Seelen für Seelchen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tinka and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
