Adopt Tino

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Senior · 20 years

Into a new life. To be pampered. To be cuddled. To be loved. This is Tino's new life motto. These are the things he dreams of, and we want to help him make these dreams come true. Tino is a super-friendly and affectionate young dog. When he's picked up for a walk, he throws himself onto his back in sheer joy, wanting to be petted, and can hardly wait to get started. He already knows how to walk on a leash and manages it quite well. Of course, there's still a bit to be desired, but who is perfect after all. He also gets along very well with all the other dogs at the animal shelter and would be happy to have a compatible only-dog companion with whom he can run and play in the garden. We wish Tino active people. Whether during the daily beautiful walks with play breaks or exciting hikes: he will have plenty to be enthusiastic about. It will surely take some time until he becomes the dream dog. But he is young, curious, and eager to learn. And that's the beauty of it: when you see how, with patience and empathy, a lifelong partnership can be formed. The reason Tino was put up for adoption by his previous owner is that he is simply too lovable and not suitable as a "tool." © 2006-2024 by animal welfare association Europa e.V. © 2006-2024 by Tierschutzverein Europa e.V. - All rights reserved

About Tino

What life with Tino looks like

Tino is a large senior mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Europa in München.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tino, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tino?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Europa handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tino on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tino if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Europa will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tino already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tino isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Europa early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tino and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
