Adopt Titania

Mixed Breed · Unknown

The gentle Titania – searching for a perfect dog bed to snuggle into! Our Samtpfote has already been living with our animal rescuers at the animal shelter for some time. Unfortunately, not much can be said about her past, as is often the case. One thing is certain, however: Titania LOVES the people!! Even though she hasn't received intense affection from people for a long time and had to be content with a few cuddles here and there, she harbors no grudges against the helpers on site and is even more delighted when attention falls on her. As soon as Titania has a person in her heart – which doesn't take her long at all 😉 – she is very clingy and would like to be attached to them all day. Titania was lucky enough to have the opportunity to join the socialization program, so she shares a run with an older male dog. Together they navigate daily life at the animal shelter, snuggle up to each other at bedtime, and enjoy each other's company. Every Sunday, Titania goes on big playground adventures with the helpers on site and clearly enjoys letting off steam, getting a good workout, and dusting off the occasional treat 😉. On walks, Titania also learns to walk on a leash and enjoys being stroked and cuddled to her heart's content. During outings, our animal welfare workers on site notice how well-adjusted our Samtpfote is and how well she gets along with other dogs. Here and there, a balanced play session, followed by a short rest, and then it's back to running around. It would therefore be no problem at all if Titania's future home already had an existing only dog for her to orient herself to and go on adventures with.

About Titania

What life with Titania looks like

Titania is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Europa in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Titania, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Titania?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Europa handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Titania on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Titania if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Europa will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Titania already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Titania isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Europa early rather than rehoming privately; they know Titania and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
