Adopt Titi

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Puppy · 4 months

Titi – Short-legged Teddy searches for a compatible two-legged friend! Titi thawed at the animal shelter after a short adjustment period, showing himself as a small, fine, and friendly young dog who enjoyed every kind of attention. Every Sunday, he was led on a leash to the dog playfield to really let off some steam. Together with his fellow animals and puppies, he roamed around, showing exemplary behavior towards them. It would therefore not be a problem if Tit's future family already had another dog for him to play with. In the meantime, Titi has moved to a foster home and gets along very well with the senior pack already present there. However, we have noticed in our new environment that his cheerful and open nature has, for the time being, hidden behind a shield of skepticism and fear. For Titi, everything in the house seems new, and it will take time and patience to build up trust again. Step by step, the foster parents have managed to convince Titi that nothing will happen to him. Since Titi has been waiting for his people in the animal shelter for a long time, he is used to relying on himself and needs a bit of time to build a relationship. We recommend attending dog training classes so that the future dog-human team can grow together perfectly. To not overwhelm him, we wish for a rural environment and a household without children and a more quiet daily routine for Titi. For those looking for a dog who jumps into their lap at every opportunity, you are not in the right place. But with patience and the ability to read dog language, you will find the key to Tit's heart and experience him as happy and people-oriented as he shows during playtime with his fellow animals. © 2006-2024 by animal welfare association Europa e.V.

© 2006-2024 by Tierschutzverein Europa e.V. - All rights reserved

About Titi

What life with Titi looks like

Titi is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Europa in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Titi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Titi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Europa handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Titi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Titi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Europa will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Titi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Titi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Europa early rather than rehoming privately; they know Titi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
