Adopt TITO

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 7 years

The Most Important About Me: Breed: Hunting Dog-mixed breed Project: Greece/Patras Gender: male/neutered Age: born 2013 Size: approx. 55 – 60 cm SH Weight: approx. 25 kg Else: child-friendly, very compatible with his fellow animals, very playful, energetic Current Location: Rescue station in Greece / Patras TITO's Story Somewhere, TITO had his own family… Unfortunately, he had a fate like many other dogs in Greece, as he was abandoned on the street. Probably he grew too big for his family, and they decided they no longer wanted him. Luckily, he landed in the hands of animal welfare and now waits at Anastasia's Shelter for a loving place where he is desired and welcome. TITO is house-trained, great with other dogs and also with children. Cats don't interest him much, but since he is a hunting dog mix, it could be that the hunting fever might still be in him. As TITO is still very playful and energetic, a home with bigger children, sports enthusiasts, and maybe even other dogs would naturally be fantastic. This is a current and recent assessment by our colleague about TITO. How he will behave in the future, especially after moving into his new home, we cannot predict. Every animal, like we humans, can change and continue to develop. TITO is treated for parasites, microchipped, vaccinated, neutered, and could pack his bag with his EU pet passport at any time. Do you perhaps have a lot of love, energy, a dog carrier, and a bit of playthings for TITO? Then he would immediately start packing his bag.

About TITO

What life with TITO looks like

TITO is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierisch Grenzenlos e.V. in Bamberg.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting TITO, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about TITO?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierisch Grenzenlos e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw TITO on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt TITO if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierisch Grenzenlos e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is TITO already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if TITO isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierisch Grenzenlos e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know TITO and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
