Tiza

Mixed Breed · Male

Tiza was found in early 2022 by a family near Sevilla. The hunting season had just ended, and the then one-year-old female dog was emaciated and injured. So, the loving people took the exhausted teenager in. Unfortunately, her rescuers barely had the money to properly care for their pets. Since there was already a male dog in the household and the funds for castration were lacking, Tiza spent the last two years mainly on the terrace. And as their financial situation worsened, the sad owners could no longer ensure the feeding of their charges. So, Tiza moved into Arca, was given her first veterinary check-up, vaccinated, neutered, and is now ready for the journey to great happiness to a family that can provide her with a dogworthy life. Tiza is a lively and clever mixed-breed lady who recently celebrated her third birthday (as of April 2024). She has safely navigated the cliffs of puberty, and her entire character is very balanced and friendly. The volunteers in Sevilla describe Tiza as a true cuddle machine, who prefers to sit on someone’s lap and be cuddled by as many hands as possible at the same time. If there are enough cookies, our little heartbreaker is in paradise. But Tiza can also play exuberantly and is just discovering what can be done with balls, sticks, and ropes. She likes to test her strength with four-legged friends in races, tug-of-wars, and, not very daintily, in wrestling. Tiza is an exceptionally lovable being, she is tender and cheerful, she is cuddly and playful – so honestly, Tiza is a gem and the born sunbeam. If you are looking for a good friend who can share many colorful adventures with you, sweeten your garden sunbath with you, share your apples with you, cuddle with you on the couch when the weather ruins all other plans, and listen patiently when you vent all your frustrations, then you have found the right female dog at our Tiza – and we can only wholeheartedly recommend that you contact us soon so that Tiza can soon storm into your home.

About Tiza

What life with Tiza looks like

Tiza is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. in Gernsbach.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tiza, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tiza?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tiza on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tiza if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tiza already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tiza isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tiza and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
