adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Tizian has found his home! His story: Bistrita, Romania. Fawn-furred Flauschebär is already waiting for your request! The wonderful Tizian lives currently in the public shelter of Bistrita and hopes to find a family soon. Because the conditions in the shelter are tough and no one has the time for him. This must change quickly! Tizian is estimated to be around 1.5 to 2 years old. He is of medium size, approximately 50 cm, and is friendly, people-oriented, and also gets along well with other dogs. It could be that Tizian is a mixed breed of Eurasier. Eurasiers are usually balanced, intelligent dogs who are quite alert. Tizian's testicles are small. For him, it's no problem, but for Switzerland, it is – he cannot enter the country and is therefore looking for a home outside of Switzerland. Tizian was abandoned by his owners on the street. The dogcatchers observed this and brought him to the public animal shelter. How he lived before, we do not know. One should always be prepared that Tizian still has a lot to learn. His open nature suggests that he will not have a hard time with that. However, when adopting a dog from abroad, resilience and perseverance are always required. It does not work for everyone right away, and the dog and human must first grow together. Tizian will surely be happy about shared nature outings, many cuddles from his people, and cozy hours in his finally own dog bed. Positive reinforcement training should be lived and the dog training classes should be chosen accordingly. Our Tizian is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. He brings his EU pet passport and is looking for a home. Who will give Tizian the ticket to happiness? Many thanks to Monika S.! You gave Tizian his beautiful name!

Vielen Dank Monika S.! Du hast Tizian seinen schönen Namen geschenkt!

About Tizian

What life with Tizian looks like

Tizian is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tizian, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tizian?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tizian on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tizian if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tizian already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tizian isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tizian and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
