Adopt Tobi

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 2 years

Tobi – Ready to Rock! → Breed: mixed breed → Gender: male → Born: 01/2024 → Size / Weight: 52 cm / 18 kg → Neutered: yes → Vaccinated: yes → Identification: Microchip → Compatible with: male dogs and female dogs → Incompatible with: N/A → Sponsorship possible: yes Description: Tobi is a young male dog, not too big, but with a lot of charm. Everyone who sees him immediately finds him cute – and yes, he is! But Tobi brings more to the table than just his adorable appearance: He is curious, playful, and sometimes has quite a bit of mischief on his mind. Just as it should be for a young pup. Since he has been living in a boarding facility so far, he hasn't really experienced life in a family. This means: Tobi needs people who can show him how life works – from leash training to the basic rules of being a good family dog. What's important here is not only consistency but especially love. Because if Tobi realizes that he can rely on his people, he will follow them with full trust, today, tomorrow, and forever. Tobi gets along great with other dogs. Due to his young age, he is still playful and sometimes a little clownish – but that's exactly what makes him so lovable. We can easily imagine Tobi as a family dog, provided the children are old enough to understand that even a young dog sometimes needs peace and its own space. Tobi is also perfectly suited for first-time dog owners.

Tobi – Ready to Rock!

About Tobi

What life with Tobi looks like

Tobi is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Franz von Assisi e.V. in Germany.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tobi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tobi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Franz von Assisi e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tobi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tobi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Franz von Assisi e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tobi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tobi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Franz von Assisi e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tobi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
