Tom Tom

Male · Senior · 13 years

This handsome gentleman is Tom Tom! Tom Tom can usually be found having a snooze on top of his table but he will always get up and greet visitors like the gentleman that he is. He loves a fuss and enjoys lots of head and chin rubs. Tom Tom may be an older lad but he certainly moves around like he is younger; he loves a little play especially if you gently move the string toy across the floor; he loves to stalk and pounce on it. Tom Tom can come across as bold but can be wary of loud noises and due to this he would be best suited living with an older school aged child. He should be fine to settle into a quiet corner of the home with lots of cosy hiding places in case he gets scared and all his resources close by. Tom Tom adores having a snooze in the sun and will need outside access once settled. Due to him being an older fella with poor mobility; he will need a permanent litter tray kept down for him in a quiet and private area of the home. About Tom Tom

What life with Tom Tom looks like

Tom Tom is a medium-sized senior cat waiting at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tom Tom, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tom Tom?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tom Tom on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tom Tom if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tom Tom already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tom Tom isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tom Tom and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
