After having two owners who did not know much about dogs, he ended up in one of BLC's foster homes. At 11 months old, he was placed with his current owners. There, he had an impeccable life until May last year. In May 2022 his owner had a major heart attack. The panic, fear, and chaos in the moments following the heart attack and the arrival of the ambulance were a traumatic experience for Tommie. Since then, his behavior has changed. He has become very protective and wants to be near his owner at all times. He barks often in the house without any apparent reason. It seems that he has forgotten part of what his owners taught him. Unfortunately, due to their health problems, they are unable to get back the Tommie they had before. That is why, with a heavy heart, they asked BorderLineCollie to find him a new family. StoryTommy is a big, adorable, and friendly teddy bear, sometimes clumsy, who sometimes still thinks he is a puppy. He doesn't like thunder. He is afraid of fireworks when he is inside. Outdoors it's better when he is accompanied. Tommie barks a little at first when left alone at home. He loves the car so much that he grabs his seatbelt by himself. Tommie knows the dog crate (the bench). Tommie knows basic commands and can walk freely where he is confident. He tends to chase cars with winter tires and since last year also ambulances. Après avoir eu 2 propriétaires sans connaissances des chiens, il a atterri dans une des maisons d’accueil de BLC. A 11 mois il a été placé chez ses propriétaires actuels. Là, il a eu une vie impeccable jusqu’en mai de l’année dernière. En mai 2022 son propriétaire a fait un infarctus majeur. La panique, l’angoisse, le chaos dans les moments qui ont suivi l’infarctus et l’arrivée de l’ambulance ont été pour Tommie une expérience traumatique. Depuis lors son comportement a changé. Il est devenu très protecteur et veut à tout moment être près de son propriétaire. Il aboie souvent dans la maison sans raison apparente. Il a l’air d’avoir oublié une partie de ce que ses propriétaires lui ont appris. Malheureusement, vu leurs problèmes de santé, il n’arrivent pas à récupérer leur Tommie d’avant. C’est pourquoi, avec le cœur lourd, ils ont demandé à BorderLineCollie de lui trouver une nouvelle famille. HistoireTommie est un gros nounours adorable et sociable, parfois maladroit, qui pense parfois encore être un chiot. Il n’aime pas l’orage. Il a peur des feux d’artifice quand il est à l’intérieur. A l’extérieur ça va mieux quand il est accompagné. Tommie aboie un tout petit peu au début lorsqu’on le laisse seul à la maison. Il aime tellement la voiture qu’il attrape sa ceinture de sécurité lui-même. Tommie connait la cage pour chiens (le bench). Tommie connait les commandes de base et peut se promener en liberté là où il est en confiance. Il a tendance à chasser les voitures avec pneus d’hiver et depuis l’année passée aussi les ambulances. Foyer recherchéLes adoptants qui savent comment gérer un chien, qui lui offrent une structure et qui ont l’intention de (ré)éduquer Tommie. Il est docile et maniable et avec la bonne approche il peut certainement redevenir le gros nounours confiant qu’il était avant son expérience traumatique.
