Tommy – Lebensmotto: Jugend forscht

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 3 years

I am male, neutered, microchipped, and born in 2022. I have been waiting since June 2023 for a new home. My caretakers say about me: Tommy came to us with brother Timmy from a friendly organization to increase their chances of being placed. Both are half-wild and half-grown in the animal shelter and require patience and empathy. Tommy is a bit more shy. Although he was easily handled upon arrival, we are confident that with the right amount of time, he will become a soft-pawed cat, affectionate only to those he trusts. He is curious and loves to hide in caves that provide him with a sense of security. We often observe Tommy near Timmy, so it would be a dream to place them together. Until the adjustment period is complete, both should live in a clean, suitable apartment environment. A quieter household with structure is desirable. Under fellow animals, Tommy especially likes Timmy. Who would like to be part of Tommy's "Jugend forscht" project and accompany him throughout his cat life?. This cat is to be kept indoors only.

Besonders Timmy. Wer möchte Tommys Projekt “ Jugend forscht“ gern ein Katzenleben lang begleiten?

What life with Tommy – Lebensmotto: Jugend forscht looks like

Tommy – Lebensmotto: Jugend forscht is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Tierheim Schkortitz in Grimma.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tommy – Lebensmotto: Jugend forscht, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tommy – Lebensmotto: Jugend forscht?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Schkortitz handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tommy – Lebensmotto: Jugend forscht on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tommy – Lebensmotto: Jugend forscht if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Schkortitz will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tommy – Lebensmotto: Jugend forscht already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tommy – Lebensmotto: Jugend forscht isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Schkortitz early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tommy – Lebensmotto: Jugend forscht and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
