Adoption Requirements | Adoption Process | Request this Animal Now! Adoption Requirements | Adoption Process | Request this Dog Now! Toni didn’t have an easy start in life. His mother was hit by a car and died. Together with his siblings, he was left alone for several days, having to fend for himself without his mother. Fortunately, our animal rescuer Natalia found the puppies in time. She took them in, lovingly bottle-fed them, and gave them the chance at a new life. Today, Toni lives together with his siblings, other dogs, and cats at Natalia’s foster home in Bistrița. There, he shows himself to be an incredibly friendly, affectionate little guy—full of puppy-like curiosity. Natalia is especially thrilled about one of his most endearing traits: Toni constantly offers people his tiny paws, as if he can’t wait to make friends already. Toni gets along wonderfully with other dogs and is already familiar with cats. He loves being close to people and is growing into an open and social puppy right in the middle of family life. Like every puppy, Toni is still at the very beginning of his life. He’ll need to learn housebreaking, leash manners, how to be left alone, and all the many rules of living together. Of course, little accidents, chewed-up slippers, and plenty of funny puppy moments are part of the package. His future family should accompany him with patience, understanding, and a good dose of humor. Puberty will also come eventually. Then, rules might be questioned once again, and suddenly the world will seem even more exciting. With loving, consistent training and attendance at a positively oriented dog school, Toni will have the best possible foundation to grow into a wonderful companion. For Toni, we’re looking for people who appreciate his big heart and will lovingly support him as he grows up. If you’re searching for a loyal little friend for life, Toni could be just the right puppy for you. Toni travels to his new home chipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated, accompanied by his EU pet passport. Due to his age, he hasn’t been neutered yet. After a positive pre-adoption check, he can be rehomed against a protection fee. Who’d like to extend a hand and receive Toni’s little paw every single day? Many thanks to our sponsor Louisa, who gave Toni his name and thus enabled him to start a new life. As of July 18, 2026

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Toni hatte keinen einfachen Start ins Leben. Stand: 18.07.2026

About Toni

What life with Toni looks like

Toni is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Toni, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Toni?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Toni on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Toni if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Toni already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Toni isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Toni and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
