adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Toni has found her forever home! Her story: Our beautiful Toni is eagerly waiting in her foster home in Münster for her people. At about 4 years old and with a comfortable shoulder height of around 55 cm, she is in the perfect age: active, curious, and full of energy. After a long time in a cramped kennel, she can hardly contain her joy at finally being able to breathe and enjoy life. Toni loves people more than anything. Once she has built trust, she shows her whole affection and enjoys close proximity and cuddles to the fullest. She has so much to make up for and gives a little bit more of her big heart every day. At the moment, strangers in the house are still greeted with barks, but Toni learns quickly and is already becoming more relaxed. Even the city life with all its impressions is still exciting for Toni. Therefore, the foster home is gradually increasing the walks. Dog encounters overwhelm her at the moment – Toni reacts excitedly and then goes on the leash. However, in the shelter, she was always compatible, and with time, calmness, and training, she will also master this part of her new life. Toni has warm, shining short fur and a sporty build. In her new home, she will need a lot of movement and mental stimulation after the adjustment period – a positively working dog training class would definitely make her very happy. She brings so much potential, is people-oriented, eager to learn, loving, and incredibly brave. Toni originally came from Fantanele. She was found in a street ditch with her newly born puppies, which have since all been rehomed. Whether she had a home before we do not know. Her X-rays tell a little about her past: they show an old, healed hip fracture and a previous femur neck fracture. Her front left paw also stands a bit unusually. None of this hinders her or causes her pain – Toni is active, happy, and full of energy. For Toni, we wish a loving home in a more rural area – with active people who enjoy movement and who show her with patience, structure, and a lot of heart how wonderful a dog life can be in safety. People who include her in their daily lives, give her support, and shower her with all the love she so deserves. If you fall in love with this wonderful female dog, please get in touch with us! Toni is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. She has an EU pet passport and can be rehomed after a positive Danke, Summer Time! Through your name sponsorship, you have paved the way for Toni's path to a better future. As of 10.12.

Danke, Summer Time! Stand: 10.12.2025

About Toni

What life with Toni looks like

Toni is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Toni, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Toni?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Toni on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Toni if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Toni already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Toni isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Toni and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
