Tora

Female · Young · 3 years

Tora is a young, cheerful and energetic female dog who has been looking for her new home for almost a year. She is extremely people-oriented — she greets every person she meets on a walk like an old friend and very much needs the closeness of a caregiver. This is a dog who should not spend her youth in an animal shelter. She is intelligent, learns quickly and gladly cooperates with people. Walks, play and outdoor activities are her element — she loves tug toys and other toys, and additionally loves water. Tora is eager to meet other dogs. In play she can be intense, but she can also calmly walk alongside or rest in the presence of another dog. Any potential cohabitation with a canine resident should be checked during a meet-and-greet walk and a pre-adoption visit. Tora recently went on a trip to the city. Thanks to this we know that she handles car rides well and copes very well among many stimuli. A visit to a park full of people and dogs was no problem for her. A female dog will best find her place by the side of an active person or family who likes movement and spending time together. The future caregiver should remember that Tora is still a young dog, so she will need clear rules, consistency and daily work on building a relationship. We are convinced that she will bring a lot of joy and love into her new home, becoming a loyal companion for many years. This is a special female dog, waiting for her new chapter in life. Maybe it's with you?

PL·Show original

Spacery, zabawa i terenowe aktywności to jej żywioł — uwielbia szarpaki i inne zabawki, a dodatkowo kocha wodę.

About Tora

What life with Tora looks like

Tora is a large young adult dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tora, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tora?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tora on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tora if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tora already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tora isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tora and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
