Adopt Trigoscha

Mixed Breed · Male

Trigoscha has interested parties. Color: Black-brown-gray striped. Special: FIV-positive. Origin: Transfer from another animal shelter (no separate FIV enclosure possible there). Trigoscha is a beautifully striped tomcat. He came to us from another animal shelter because there was no way to safely house FIV-positive cats there. Now, he lives in the FIV enclosure with us and waits for the chance to find his forever home. FIV (cat AIDS) is not transmissible to humans or other animal species. Cats like Trigoscha can still enjoy many happy years with good care and a stress-free life. The important thing is that he must not live with FIV-negative cats. We are looking for a home in a suitable apartment, preferably with a secured balcony or enclosed outdoor area, so he can enjoy fresh air and sunshine. A loving home in a suitable apartment (secured balcony/garden desirable) is what Trigoscha needs. People who give him a chance despite his FIV status may find a grateful companion for life. Those who have other FIV-positive cats might be a good match. Patience, love, and security are what Trigoscha has a lot to give and longs to find. This cat is to be kept indoors only.

About Trigoscha

What life with Trigoscha looks like

Trigoscha is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Tierschutzverein Trier und Umgebung e.V. in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Trigoscha, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Trigoscha?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Trier und Umgebung e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Trigoscha on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Trigoscha if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Trier und Umgebung e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Trigoscha already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Trigoscha isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Trier und Umgebung e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Trigoscha and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
