Trixie *20

Mixed Breed · Female

Hometown: Romania Breed: mixed breed Gender: female, neutered Color: black-white shoulder height: ca. 40 cmDate of birth: ca. 2023/2024Location: Romania Trixie is a female dog that leaves a deep sadness. Even before we stood in front of her kennel, she barked loudly at us – as if she wanted to keep us at a distance before we could get too close. But behind this bark lies no strength, but pure fear. When we entered the kennel, Trixie had nothing to do with us. Panicked, she ran around in the exercise pen, desperately searching for an escape and could not find a single moment of calm. Her fear was palpable. It seemed as if she had never learned that people can also represent safety and love. Especially sad was that she couldn't even accept the treats from the ground. Her panic was greater than any hunger or curiosity. Trixie was so caught up in her fear at that moment that she could no longer perceive anything else. Despite all her insecurity, she shows a good relationship with other dogs. In her presence, she seems to find some stability – perhaps because dogs are more predictable for her than people. Trixie urgently needs a quiet place, experienced people, and a lot of time. People who don't expect anything from her and show her step by step that she no longer needs to fight or flee. Behind her panicked facade lies a small soul that probably has never experienced what security feels like. Contact: Our dogs are vaccinated (rabies and 2x basic immunization), microchipped, and come with an EU pet passport at our expense (we cover the lab fees) tested for common Mediterranean diseases: Babesiosis, Ehrlichiosis, leishmaniasis, Rickettsiae, filariasis, hepatozoonosis, Anaplasmosis. About Trixie *20

What life with Trixie *20 looks like

Trixie *20 is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierhilfe Lebenswert e.V. in Oberwies.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Trixie *20, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Trixie *20?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierhilfe Lebenswert e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Trixie *20 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Trixie *20 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierhilfe Lebenswert e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Trixie *20 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Trixie *20 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierhilfe Lebenswert e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Trixie *20 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
