Trixie

Mixed Breed Cat Β· Female Β· Adult Β· 6 years

Could you be Trixie's purrfect home?Trixie is a darling inside and out. She may look like just another black and white cat, but she's a cat in a million! Trixie came to us after her family had to move away and couldn't take her with them. She was a brave little puss and did her best to put her troubles behind her and look to the future. Trixie has been a real favourite with the volunteers, especially as she's had to battle through a few minor health problems…but she's looking wonderful now and is ready for her new life to begin! Her fur is soft as down and her eyes sparkle with joy whenever she sees you. Such a loving and friendly cat. Trixie is quite at home with quiet family life and always wants to know who's at the door and what's going on. If you're in the garden, look up at the window and she'll be there checking you're pegging out the washing properly! Sweetheart Trixie lived with other cats but would probably prefer being the only pet in the household now and enjoy all the fuss and attention…and why not? Trixie is neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped. Her adopter would need to keep on top of her flea treatment as her skin is sensitive. She's recently had a dental op so her teeth are sparkling! Trixie couldn't be sweeter or more lovely. She loves attention on first meeting people, but soon realises she can have all the fuss she wants, and is content to sit quietly watching the world go by.

About Trixie

What life with Trixie looks like

Trixie is an adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at Swansea Cats and Kittens in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction β€” every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Trixie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Trixie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Swansea Cats and Kittens handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Trixie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Trixie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Swansea Cats and Kittens will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Trixie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Trixie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Swansea Cats and Kittens early rather than rehoming privately; they know Trixie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
