Trixie

Mixed Breed · Unknown

The lovely Trixie was seized along with other dogs during a property clearance at a Messi household in early 2025—a nightmare for these animals. All the dogs were first brought to safety and cared for at the Odai animal shelter. It’s almost impossible to imagine what these dogs must have endured: hunger, unimaginable amounts of trash and filth all around them. Many of the dogs were frightened and lacked socialization skills. We now want to give these dogs a fresh start—a chance at a happy life as companion dogs. At the shelter, Trixie was moved to the socialization area, where she learned to build trust, regularly received food and kind words, and came to enjoy the gentle touches of her caregivers’ hands. Initially, Trixie had skin problems caused by her previous living conditions, and her coat was patchy in places. But thanks to targeted treatment and high-quality food, Trixie has blossomed into a beautiful young lady dog. The sweet Trixie is a clever little dog who quickly learned just how delicious treats can be—and that the leash leads to a little dog playground within the shelter grounds. From a once very fearful and timid puppy, Trixie has now become a friendly and affectionate dog who loves being petted and playing joyfully with the other dogs in the outdoor run. Like many other dogs at the shelter, Trixie now hopes to win the heart of loving and understanding people who would like to share their lives with her, hold her soft little paw, and explore the world together. Perhaps there’ll even be a nice canine friend in her new family whom she can look up to and learn from. Above all, Trixie simply wants to be a happy little dog. © 2006-2026 by Tierschutzverein Europa e.V. - All rights reserved

DE·Show original

© 2006-2026 by Tierschutzverein Europa e.V. - All rights reserved

About Trixie

What life with Trixie looks like

Trixie is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Europa in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Trixie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Trixie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Europa handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Trixie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Trixie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Europa will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Trixie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Trixie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Europa early rather than rehoming privately; they know Trixie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
