How do I contact the shelter about Trude?

Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Trude on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.

Can I adopt Trude if I live in another country?

Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.

Is Trude already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?

Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.

What happens if Trude isn't the right fit?

Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Trude and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.

Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?

TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.

Trude

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 3 months

Trude, a small mixed-breed puppy, was found with another small female dog near a house. Fortunately, they were discovered and brought to safety, and now Trude hopes to find her forever family. At just about three months old, Trude is still at the beginning of her life. She is currently about 35 cm tall and weighs around 5 kg. A unique feature of Trude is her short tail. Visually, Trude suggests that her colorful genetic mix may include a Schnauzer or Terrier, but which breeds are actually in her remains her little secret. Trude is very friendly, affectionate, and clingy, and enjoys attention and closeness. She also gets along well with other dogs and is social and tolerant. How she reacts to cats has not yet been tested. Of course, Trude is still a puppy. In her new home, she wants to learn the ABCs of being a dog, discover the world together, and experience what it means to be part of a family. Puberty will also eventually come, and it will certainly bring some challenges. But with patience, loving consistency, and needs-oriented support, Trude will definitely grow into a great companion. We wish Trude people who are not only seduced by her sweet gaze, but also have the desire to accompany her on her journey into adulthood - with plenty of time, understanding, and of course a lot of love. Trude travels with a microchip, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-free. She brings an EU pet passport and can travel after a positive pre-check and for a deposit. On behalf of Trude, we would like to thank Nadine. Thanks to you, Trude has a chance at a future. Status: 24.09.2026

About Trude

What life with Trude looks like

Trude is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.
