Trufa

Female · 2 years

This cute little pup is Trufa. She was adopted when she was a puppy and, unfortunately, has returned to the animal shelter, searching for a permanent home where she can be happy. Trufa is adapting to the animal shelter and little by little is showing us her personality. She is very affectionate and close with the volunteers, loves being accompanied, and is one of those puppies that seeks contact, sticking to you to receive and give love. She seems quite dependent on people and has a protective side, as if she wants to be close and take care of whoever is with her. Trufa needs a family that can give her time, affection, and security so she can feel calm and loved. With lots of love, she will surely be a very special companion. Now she just needs a home where she can start anew. Will you take a chance and give Trufa the chance she deserves?

About Trufa

What life with Trufa looks like

Trufa is a medium-sized adult dog waiting at Protectora Malaga in Málaga.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Separation anxiety, needs patient family for readjustment after return to shelter

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Trufa, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Trufa?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Protectora Malaga handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Trufa on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Trufa if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Protectora Malaga will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Trufa already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Trufa isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Protectora Malaga early rather than rehoming privately; they know Trufa and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
