Trusca

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process The approximately 7-year-old Trusca dreams of a warm home with a family in the public shelter in Romania that will welcome her into their hearts and never let her go. The pretty female dog with brown spots has already packed her suitcases. Trusca is a friendly female dog about 55 cm tall. We can say nothing about her past, like so many stray dogs. She is currently a bit reserved and must learn to trust humans again. Nonetheless, she is happy to receive the attention of the shelter staff. Trusca is a friendly female dog who gets along well with her fellow animals. When someone enters her kennel, she wags her tail and sniffs curiously at the hand. She can also be touched and enjoys the contact. It is safe to assume that Trusca has not yet experienced life in a house. Leash manners and house cleanliness are just as unfamiliar to her as the behavior rules for a well-behaved house dog. But we are sure that Trusca will quickly learn the whole dog 1×1 if trained patiently and lovingly. After the adjustment period, attending a positively working dog training class would contribute to Trusca's bond with her new family. We are looking for loving people who will always positively reinforce train Trusca. People who will give her time to adjust to her new life and not rush her. An enclosed garden where Trusca can run around or lie in the sun would be perfect, but is not a requirement for placement. The sweet Trusca travels neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. She has an EU pet passport and can be placed after a positive foster home experience. She is also very grateful for the lovely name and identity given to her by Marita R. A big thank you also goes to Marita R. for taking on a monthly sponsorship for Trusca. As of: 03.07.

Stand: 03.07.2024

About Trusca

What life with Trusca looks like

Trusca is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Trusca, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Trusca?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Trusca on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Trusca if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Trusca already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Trusca isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Trusca and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
