Adopt Tucker

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Senior · 20 years

The delicate Tucker is a charming little puppy who also wishes to find his great fortune and become a beloved member of his family. Not much is known about the previous life of the brave Sunbeam, who was rescued by animal control officers from a very neglected apartment with other animals. The animals lived there under unworthy and deprived conditions, Tucker was in a physically poor condition, very emaciated, and neglected. He was brought to the animal shelter, where he will first receive veterinary care, recover, and regain his strength. We now want to help the sweet Tucker to be seen by loving and understanding people and start a wonderful dog life soon. Since Tucker probably hasn't learned much in his young life, of course, he still needs to learn what it means to be a family dog and learn everything with his family in dog training classes. The sweet puppy has lived together with other dogs and even cats, he is very social and friendly. Toward people, he is still a bit reserved, which is surely due to his previous life. But with lots of love, understanding, and affection, this should soon be in the past. Wonderful adventures, always a well-filled bowl, a cozy dog bed, and many shared cuddle hours, so should the future life of Tucker look, with people who stand by him in every situation. © 2006-2024 by animal welfare association Europa e.V.

© 2006-2024 by Tierschutzverein Europa e.V. - All rights reserved

About Tucker

What life with Tucker looks like

Tucker is a medium-sized senior mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Europa in München.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tucker, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tucker?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Europa handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tucker on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tucker if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Europa will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tucker already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tucker isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Europa early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tucker and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
