Tutsi

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 2 months

Tutsi – also known as our girl from Grot 🐾 Tutsi is a young female dog around 2 years old who is just starting to discover walks and new experiences. Although everything is still new and sometimes a bit difficult for her, she is making great progress – it's really going well! She just needs a little time, patience, and support from a person to feel more confident. 🩷 She is very people-oriented – when she trusts, she beautifully opens up and shows her sensitive, gentle side. She is not pushy, but contact with humans brings her great joy. She loves treats, which are a great motivation for further work and building a relationship. 🥰 She gets along very well with other dogs – she can usually get along with almost anyone without major problems. Moreover, it is recommended that she lives with another stable dog (preferably a male or calm female dog), as the presence of another dog gives her a sense of security and helps her cope in stressful situations. The female dog is of the Belgian shepherd type, which is evident both in her silhouette and her temperament. Dogs of this type are usually: • very intelligent and quick to learn • sensitive to their caregiver's emotions • strongly attached to humans • active and love movement and mental tasks • alert and observant Tutsi has the potential to be a wonderful, loyal companion – she just needs a home that will show her the world step by step and allow her to blossom at her own pace. 💛 If you want to get to know her better, give her a chance – it's really worth it. 📍 Tutsi is currently at animal shelter for Homeless Animals Canis in Kruszewo – about 100 km from Warsaw and Bialystok. 🦴 You can visit her every weekend during hours!

About Tutsi

What life with Tutsi looks like

Tutsi is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tutsi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tutsi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tutsi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tutsi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tutsi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tutsi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tutsi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
