Tweety

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Tweety has found her home! Her story: Tweety – a sad fate. She is one of six dogs rescued from a household. The owner was unable to adequately care for her dogs. She didn't even have enough money for her own food…so she couldn't provide for so many dogs. Now Tweety has the chance for a better life! Tweety is approximately 2 years old and could be a Bichon-mixed breed. She has a small size with about 37 cm and 10 kg. At first, she is still reserved, but she feels much better quickly. She enjoys cuddles very much and longs for the attention of the two-legged ones. She is not familiar with a leash and harness, which must still be practiced diligently. But Tweety is not afraid of it and will surely learn it well. She gets along well with her fellow animals. For Tweety, we are looking for loving people who will show her the sunny sides of life. So far, she has not experienced an appropriate dog life and must learn everything anew. But together with patient and empathetic people, this will surely work out. Tweety looks forward to beautiful nature walks, cuddles and snuggle sequences with her people, as well as regular contact with her fellow animals. The sweet Tweety is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. She brings an EU pet passport with her and can be adopted after a positive home check. Do you have a free dog bed for Tweety? Many thanks, Stevie A.! You have given Tweety her sweet name! Date: 25.12.

Vielen Dank Stevie A.! Du hast Tweety ihren süßen Namen geschenkt! Stand: 25.12.2024

About Tweety

What life with Tweety looks like

Tweety is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tweety, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tweety?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tweety on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tweety if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tweety already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tweety isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tweety and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
