Adopt TYSON

German Shepherd · Male · Adult · 9 years

TYSON is a good dog who loves being with his human friends. Young, joyful, affectionate, and smart, he is a wonderful dog with a lively spirit. What kind of adopter are we looking for? For TYSON we definitely look for a family that has a lot of time to dedicate to him and that will not leave him alone in a garden. A family that wants to spend time with him, ideally a family that would like to do canine activities together with him. We will evaluate on a case-by-case basis the compatibility with other dogs already in the family, especially if they are male dogs, while it may be easier to integrate him into a family that already has an adult female dog. We advise against adoption by families with cats. Nevertheless, we are available to evaluate each family situation individually. Health: healthy. Neutered: yes. Entered the shelter: October 2017 (owner surrender)

Read original (it)

Siamo comunque disponibili a valutare singolarmente ogni situazione familiare. Salute: sano Sterilizzato: sì Entrato in canile: ottobre 2017 (rinuncia di proprietà)

About TYSON

What life with TYSON looks like

TYSON is a adult german shepherd cat waiting at Rifugio in Italy.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇮🇹Adopting from Italy

Italian canili require adopters to sign a stewardship contract (affido) and may retain the right to verify the animal's wellbeing post-adoption. Animals are chipped and sterilized before leaving (Legge 281/91). Public canili rifugio typically waive adoption fees.

Frequently asked

Adopting TYSON, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about TYSON?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Rifugio handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw TYSON on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt TYSON if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Rifugio will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is TYSON already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if TYSON isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Rifugio early rather than rehoming privately; they know TYSON and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (IT). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
