Adopt Ubul

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Young · 2 years

Ubul was a blind puppy when he came to the shelter. Of his siblings, only he was born blind, but this in no way affected him. Two years ago, he was adopted, but even though he was blind, Ubul joined the family as their third dog, and they gave him a chance in life despite his blindness. Unfortunately, the family suddenly decided that Ubul had to leave. They said he had changed a lot and could no longer be kept with the other dogs. After the family increased their home-based pack from 3 to 8 dogs in 2 years, Ubul couldn't cope with such a big change and was prone to jealousy. Later, he became uncertain, so they decided to give him up. Of course, we take care of Ubul and will not leave him alone. Ubul is looking for a guardian who will take charge and teach him that he is safe, without having to worry about everything. We believe that the loving consistency and the will to walk a path together for Ubul's sake, and to give him the security that every dog needs, are now the most important. We think Ubul would feel best in a calm and manageable community. We would be happy if Ubul were adopted as the first dog, where he doesn't have to fear what the other dogs think at first. In a suitable environment and upbringing, it cannot be ruled out that he could have a dog companion.

About Ubul

What life with Ubul looks like

Ubul is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Állatvédelmi Centrum in Hungary.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ubul, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ubul?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Állatvédelmi Centrum handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ubul on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ubul if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Állatvédelmi Centrum will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ubul already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ubul isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Állatvédelmi Centrum early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ubul and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
