Ukulele

Male · Adult · 9 years

Ukulele is still waiting for adoption together with Ksylofon. Both kittens are currently undergoing treatment at the animal shelter on Paluch, so we encourage you to talk to the veterinarian before making a decision about adoption. We know that finding a home for a pair is not easy, but we don't have the heart to separate them. They are very close and deserve to be together. Finally, they fully enjoy a safe, cat's life. They jump, run and - above all - have guaranteed minimum care that they lacked for many years. Now their fur is beautiful and shiny. These are our Ukulele and Ksylofon - two cats that came to the animal shelter from an intervention. They were taken from very bad conditions. Ukulele is the one with a calmer look. He is older, 8 years old. At first, he may be a bit distant, because he needs time to get to know someone and trust them. The younger, 4-year-old Ksylofon is a real volcano of energy. He will jump onto your lap, ask for a scratch and immediately let you know it's time for play. Their past was not colorful and affected their health. Currently, both permanently take probiotics to support the digestive system. Ukulele has been diagnosed with IBD, which does not bother him thanks to a good diet. The kittens eat single-protein food. We invite you to review the pre-adoption questionnaire: Attention: If you decide to adopt a cat or are considering it, be sure to bring a carrier or transport bag to the animal shelter for transporting the cats. Before adoption, make sure your home / apartment is safe and properly prepared to welcome a new family member. Remember to secure the windows and balcony.

Ukulele to ten o spokojniejszym spojrzeniu. Młodszy, 4-letni Ksylofon, to prawdziwy wulkan energii. Pamiętaj, żeby zabezpieczyć okna i balkon.

About Ukulele

What life with Ukulele looks like

Ukulele is a small adult cat waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

Note from the shelter: Has IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease) requiring special diet and permanent probiotic treatment. Must be adopted together with bonded companion Xylophone.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ukulele, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ukulele?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ukulele on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ukulele if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ukulele already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ukulele isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ukulele and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
