Ulrike

Staffordshire Bull Terrier · Female · Adult · 5 years

Ulrike is a people-oriented female dog who enjoys attention. This is how I present myself at the animal shelter: I am friendly and open. I like people and food games. I can walk past other dogs calmly. However, I am also quite vocal and still have a lot to learn. When I am stressed, I tend to engage in displacement behaviors. Then it can happen that I bite the leash. That's why I need people who can correctly assess my behavior and help me become calmer in such situations. I wish for... a loving home with dog-experienced people. It would be especially nice if you already have experience with my breed. I look forward to people who work patiently with me and give me security. Children living in the household should be at least twelve years old. Whether I can be left alone is not yet known - this would need to be practiced patiently if necessary. Since I am one of the so-called list dogs, I am generally subject to a leash and muzzle requirement in Berlin. In addition, a landlord's permission is required for my keeping. Please plan several visits to the animal shelter so that we can get to know each other in peace. Would you like to meet me? Then contact us via the contact form below or by phone at Lassie-Haus (daily 13-16 except Saturdays).

About Ulrike

What life with Ulrike looks like

Ulrike is a medium-sized adult staffordshire bull terrier dog waiting at Tierheim Berlin in Berlin.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ulrike, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ulrike?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Berlin handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ulrike on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ulrike if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Berlin will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Ulrike already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ulrike isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Berlin early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ulrike and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
