Adopt Una rassegna culturale canina, il Dog Film Festival

For creative dog lovers, the first Italian Dog Film Festival was born this year (in the USA it has already existed for several years), a festival dedicated to wagging tails and their owners with an interest in video and printed image storytelling, organized by the cooperative society Artix of Rome, with the endorsement of the National Federation of Italian Veterinary Associations and the Italian Red Cross. It is a competition open to professionals or simple enthusiasts of video content and writing, with the theme of dogs and the special relationship that develops between them and humans. A relationship that can show affection, tenderness, care but also much knowledge through which to spread history, art, literature... in one word, culture. How many films, books, essays, poems, studies featuring moving stories of dogs and people have been created and continue to be loved by the public? The Dog Film Festival gives the opportunity to those who do it for work or for fun to tell the unique bond with dogs, and to do so through culture (including stories collected by Apaca in two published books) is a particularly stimulating idea. On March 15, the selection of works for the categories of professionals, amateurs and writers started, and there is time until May 30 to respond to the calls and submit your creations: from June 5 to 25, they will be assessed by a special jury that will decide which ones will be the most deserving, which will finally be awarded on July 8. The event also includes two sections outside the competition, one reserved for audiovisual works that have narrated significant canine stories in cinema or television, and the other that recognizes the contribution dogs offer to human society through pet therapy, investigation and control activities, and intervention in rescue and assistance operations. Canine nature and human ingenuity thus meet and shake hands within this new festival, which values a feeling that men and dogs seem to share since they met, empathy. And regarding mutual understanding, the Dog Film Festival also wants to raise awareness among participants and supporters about the sensitive issue of abandonment, promoting a social media campaign highlighting the importance of caring for a faithful animal like a dog with awareness and responsibility: in short, a multitude of ideas and inspirations to unleash creativity and honor the spirit of cooperation and complicity that has always brought dogs and humans together, making their millennial friendship splendid.

Per i creativi amanti dei cani è nato quest’anno il primo Dog Film Festival italiano (negli USA c'è già da qualche anno), una rassegna dedicata agli amici scodinzolanti e ai loro proprietari con l’interesse verso i racconti per immagini video e su carta, organizzato dalla società cooperativa Artix di Roma, con il patrocinio della Federazione Nazionale Ordini Veterinari Italiani e della Croce Rossa Italiana. Si tratta di un concorso aperto a specialisti o semplici appassionati di contenuti video e di scrittura, che ha per tema i cani e il rapporto speciale che si crea fra i loro e gli esseri umani. Un rapporto che sa mostrare affetto, dolcezza, cura ma anche molta conoscenza attraverso la quale diffondere storia, arte, letteratura… in una parola, cultura. Quanti film, libri, saggi, poesie, studi che hanno per protagonisti emozionanti storie di cani e persone sono stati infatti realizzati e continuano a essere amati dal pubblico? Il Dog Film Festival dà l’opportunità a chi lo fa per lavoro o per hobby di raccontare il legame unico con i cani, e farlo attraverso la cultura (compresi racconti come quelli raccolti da Apaca nei due libri pubblicati ) è un’idea particolarmente stimolante. Il 15 marzo è partita la selezione delle opere per le categorie professionisti, amatori e writers e c’è tempo fino al 30 maggio per rispondere ai bandi e inviare le proprie realizzazioni: dal 5 al 25 giugno saranno valutate da un’apposita giuria che deciderà quali saranno le più meritevoli, le quali verranno premiate infine l’8 luglio. La manifestazione prevede inoltre due sezioni fuori concorso, una riservata alle opere audiovisive che hanno narrato in modo significativo vicende canine al cinema o in televisione e l’altra che dà riconoscimento al contributo che i cani offrono alla società umana attraverso la pet therapy , le attività di indagine e di controllo e l’intervento in operazioni di soccorso e assistenza. Indole canina e ingegno umano dunque si incontrano e si stringono la mano all’interno di questa nuova rassegna, la quale valorizza un sentimento che uomini e cani sembrano condividere fin da quando si sono conosciuti, l’empatia. E a proposito di comprensione reciproca, Il Dog Film Festival vuole anche sensibilizzare partecipanti e sostenitori sul problema spinoso dell’abbandono, promuovendo una campagna sui social media rivolta all’importanza di saper accudire con consapevolezza e responsabilità un animale fedele come il cane: insomma, una molteplicità di spunti e ispirazioni per scatenare la fantasia e omaggiare lo spirito di cooperazione e complicità che avvicina da sempre cani e umani, rendendo splendida la loro millenaria amicizia.
