Adopt Un’arte assai poco mirabile

Mixed Breed · Unknown

For some time now, a dangerous and disrespectful trend has emerged among dog owners and groomers: altering the fur of animals to make them look more and more like dolls and stuffed toys. It is called "extreme dog grooming" and it is a risky practice for their health and disrespectful of their living nature, transformed into that of toys whose color and hairstyle are changed for pure entertainment. Indeed, dyeing a dog's fur can be harmful to their physical and psychological well-being: allergic reactions, burns, and intoxications can occur when coming into contact with chemical substances or otherwise inappropriate for the dog's coat and skin. Also, these substances alter their scent, potentially causing confusion and socialization problems with other dogs. Moreover, the dog is subjected to the stress of an often invasive and prolonged grooming, especially if, along with coloring, the fur is styled in extravagant and bizarre ways. Indeed, images of dogs turned into zebras, tigers, pandas, fish, Pokémon, Santa's elves, rainbows are seen, especially on social media, where this is even defined as an art practiced by established groomers. There may be a guarantee that products and techniques are used that do not endanger the lives of dogs, but the fact remains, absolutely serious, that they are ridiculed and harmed: there is no benefit for them in being treated, rather mistreated, in this useless and insensitive way. If it is absolutely necessary to intervene on the coat, the dog's fur should be cut following a delicate practice that pays attention to its functions of thermoregulation and protection: it cannot be removed for mere aesthetic taste. On this, veterinarians and industry experts are clear: it is better to brush the dog periodically and to thin the coat only when necessary, while shaving should be done exclusively in cases where there are real hygienic and health reasons. If all this is not enough, it is necessary to remember that in Italy, artificially dyeing a dog's fur can also constitute an offense: there are municipal regulations - including that of Belluno (Article 9, paragraph 11) and of some other towns in our province - that explicitly prohibit this practice, considered a crime by legal doctrine if performed on another person's dog. We must always remember that dogs, like all other living and sentient beings, are not objects nor people; they do not need to get a dye or a new haircut to look neater, more elegant, more "stylish," to satisfy the human tendency to seek beauty, a certainly undeniable and fascinating part of our complexity. Dogs just need a lot of love and above all respect for their animal nature so that they can feel like the wonderful creatures they are... natural and untidy.

About Un’arte assai poco mirabile

Un’arte assai poco mirabile is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Associazione Onlus Apaca in Italy.

How do I contact the shelter about Un’arte assai poco mirabile?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Associazione Onlus Apaca handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Un’arte assai poco mirabile on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Un’arte assai poco mirabile if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Associazione Onlus Apaca will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Un’arte assai poco mirabile already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Un’arte assai poco mirabile isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Associazione Onlus Apaca early rather than rehoming privately; they know Un’arte assai poco mirabile and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (IT). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
