How do I contact the shelter about Upper?

Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Action 4 Pets handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Upper on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.

Can I adopt Upper if I live in another country?

Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Action 4 Pets will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.

Is Upper already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?

Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.

What happens if Upper isn't the right fit?

Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Action 4 Pets early rather than rehoming privately; they know Upper and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.

Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?

TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.

Upper

French Bulldog · Male

Type/Breed: French bulldog (non LOF) Chip number: 250269591718910 History: Breeding reform Personality/Description: First of all, it should be known that Upper alias "Pause-Caca" has a transit problem. This does not prevent him from eating well (and not apple pies) and gaining weight, a few grams at a time. Several treatments have been set up. However, it is not yet resolved. But to say that, he is in great shape (without any bad wordplay). Then, just like Stiffler, his seduction techniques are rather original and effective. Upper, as you have understood, is a little joker. Also, he is very playful (he has fun with toilet paper rolls ^^). Cleanliness is still being acquired (at least for urinating and he is finally proud of it). He does not pull on the leash, is rather well-behaved, even serious when going out. However, he could be recruited by the public cleanliness: he loves moving objects that are lying around the street. Finally, he is a lovely dog, very sociable and curious. Adoption fee: 270 euros (including membership) Adoption outside France is entirely possible. The adopter must also be able to visit the foster family to meet the animal. Vaccinated: YES + rabies and passport To adopt, please complete this form: have this certificate completed by a veterinarian or an ASV and present it to us after signing it: Finally, this dog does not suit you or is no longer available?

About Upper

What life with Upper looks like

Upper is a adult french bulldog dog waiting at Action 4 Pets in France.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.
