Valdor

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

Valdor knows how to melt hearts, a real charmer! He is a young cat who is observant and very curious, always ready for an adventure. He loves exploring, sniffing, discovering... then taking a moment to settle down, enjoying a quiet moment with his human and feline housemates. When it's time for cuddles, Valdor becomes a real clingy ball of love... He is very affectionate, gentle, and full of love. It's visible in his eyes: heart: Valdor is also an extremely playful cat who seeks activities and is always ready to play whether with his toys or with the other cats in the house. He will thrive especially in an environment that already has one or a fellow animal of the same species. Valdor is a young cat, but he has already gone through many trials, during which he showed amazing resilience. Indeed, he was abandoned at 7 months old after a serious fracture of the hind leg caused by a balcony fall. He was taken care of by our association and operated on to save his leg and enable him to walk again. He is now fully able to walk, run, jump, and be a mischievous cat! He keeps 6 screws in one of his hind legs from this operation, which will not need to be removed. It does not bother him as he continues his super adventure that is cat life:cat:. Valdor had never seen a veterinarian before coming to us, and it is probably thanks to his care that he is still alive today, as he has a disease that was very discreet and had never been detected. After his surgery and following the stress of the fall, we noticed that he was very pale: he had severe anemia. After several weeks of research, exams, and treatments, it turned out that he is suffering from a disease affecting his immune system. Currently, his condition does not require any additional tests or operations. Valdor is stable and doing well under treatment thanks to a daily pill (which he takes willingly because he is wonderful) along with a monthly check-up to do a blood test and adjust the dosage of the treatment and check if he has any other associated health problems. Valdor is also on a specific veterinary diet for urinary health to avoid urinary problems that may occur with the treatment he is receiving. Due to this disease, it is very difficult for veterinarians to predict the life expectancy of Valdor. It is possible that in some cases, after several months of treatment, the cat may get better and no longer need it, but it is also possible that he may need it for his entire life to maintain his health. We assume that Valdor is not a cat who will have a very long life, without having a precise idea because it will depend on the ability of his body to support the treatment. Our little resilient adventurer is ready to be adopted. He is waiting for a family that wants to make him a member of the family, accepting the uncertainty related to his illness, enjoying every day that life has to...

About Valdor

What life with Valdor looks like

Valdor is a young adult mixed breed cat waiting at ADPK - Association Des P in adpk association des p tits korrigans.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Valdor, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Valdor?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ADPK - Association Des P handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Valdor on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Valdor if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ADPK - Association Des P will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Valdor already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Valdor isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ADPK - Association Des P early rather than rehoming privately; they know Valdor and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
