Valdor

Mixed Breed · Male · 7 months

Valdor is a charming young cat with a curious and adventurous spirit. He loves to explore, sniff, and discover, but also enjoys quiet moments with his human and feline companions. When it's time for cuddles, Valdor becomes a clingy little ball of love, affectionate, gentle, and full of love. His eyes speak volumes: heart: Valdor is also an extremely playful cat who craves activities and is always ready to play with his toys or other cats in the house. He would thrive in a home with a fellow feline companion. Valdor is a young cat who has already faced many challenges and shown remarkable resilience. At seven months old, he was abandoned after a serious fall from a balcony that caused a severe injury to his hind leg. He was taken in by our association, operated on to save his leg, and is now fully capable of walking, running, jumping, and playing. He still has six screws in his hind leg, but they won't need to be removed. This doesn't hinder his ability to live the exciting life of a cat:cat:. Valdor had never seen a vet before arriving at our shelter, and it's likely that his care has saved his life. He had a severe anemia that was never detected, and after surgery and dealing with the stress of the fall, we discovered that he had a disease affecting his immune system. Currently, his condition doesn't require additional tests or surgery. Valdor is stable and doing well on a daily medication (which he takes willingly) and monthly blood tests to adjust the dosage and check for any other health issues. He is also on a specific veterinary diet to prevent urinary problems associated with his treatment. Due to this disease, it's difficult for vets to determine Valdor's life expectancy. He may need the treatment for the rest of his life, but it's also possible that he may no longer need it after several months. We assume that Valdor's life expectancy won't be very long, but we're not sure because it depends on his body's ability to tolerate the treatment. Our little adventurous warrior is ready to be adopted. He's waiting for a family that will accept the uncertainty of his condition and enjoy every day of his life.

About Valdor

What life with Valdor looks like

Valdor is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at ADPK - Association Des P in adpk association des p tits korrigans.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Valdor, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Valdor?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ADPK - Association Des P handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Valdor on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Valdor if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ADPK - Association Des P will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Valdor already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Valdor isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ADPK - Association Des P early rather than rehoming privately; they know Valdor and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
