Viva

Unknown · Young · 2 years

Viva is a sweet and playful cat who enjoys running around and going on adventures. She is naturally a bit shy around people, but she is making progress and coming closer each time. With patience and calmness, she will gradually become more open. Her birth date is estimated to be 17-8-2023. When running, Viva sometimes has to be careful. She had a damaged shoulder, which makes it harder for her to lean on that side. Fortunately, it is now going very well and she can basically do everything with her paw again. She manages well, but a quiet and safe home is important for her. She also really likes looking outside and we think she would like to go outside, so a house with a cat-safe enclosed garden would be nice. For Viva we are looking for a patient home where she will have the time to build trust. Another kind cat in the house would be good for her. Ideally, she would be adopted together with Valerio, because they get along very well now and support each other.

NL·Show original

About Viva

What life with Viva looks like

Viva is a young adult cat waiting at Hokazo in Uden.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Viva, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Viva?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hokazo handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Viva on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Viva if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hokazo will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Viva already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Viva isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hokazo early rather than rehoming privately; they know Viva and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
