Adopt Valton

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 4 years

Native Country: Hungary This beautiful doggo has the name Valton. He was sighted on April 27, 2026, wandering alone in the city of Lajosmizse and reported to the animal shelter by attentive passersby. The animal shelter staff immediately responded, and Valton was brought to the shelter unharmed. Unfortunately, as is often the case, he was neither microchipped nor reported missing, something we will never understand... How long Valton had been on his own and what his past entailed, we do not know. Valton now waits in Menhely for his new people who will walk with him through the rest of his life and show him the sunny sides of life. Hopefully, very soon! Valton is a bit shy and unsure at the beginning but is a friendly, gentle, and loving four-legged friend who likes people. He just needs some time to trust and to settle into a stable environment. We know not what he has already experienced, but he surely knows about expulsion and rejection. When he realizes that no one wants to harm him, he is happy to receive cuddles and attention, having a lot of catch-up to do and not wanting to miss out again. He enjoys when affection is given to him and looks at you with gratitude. He needs a lot of love and closeness. Some things from the doggie basics Valton still needs to learn, and his new people should be happy to teach him this with love. Valton wants to please the people and not do anything wrong. His learning will now be directed into the right paths, and then one gets a wonderful companion. He would also be delighted with dog-appropriate stimulation once he has arrived in his new home in peace. Valton gets along well with other animals and is currently (June 3, 2026) being integrated into a mixed pack. For our beloved Valton, we are looking for dog-loving and adventurous people who enjoy being outdoors. Valton would surely be a great companion for jogging, cycling, hiking, or similar activities, as long as both the person and the dog have a good time together. This would include lots of cuddle time, play, fun, clear rules, enough quiet phases, and full family connection, and Valton can finally start his new life with love, protection, and without worries. His upper, left canine was broken and had to be removed. Whose heart may Valton give to? Valton can travel from mid/end of June 2026 if he finds a home or a foster home.

About Valton

What life with Valton looks like

Valton is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Animal Happyend in Animal Happyend.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Valton, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Valton?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Happyend handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Valton on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Valton if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Happyend will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Valton already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Valton isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Happyend early rather than rehoming privately; they know Valton and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
