Hoi, ik ben Vanilla, een uiterst sympathieke zwart-witte kater, al zeg ik het zelf. Je zou het niet denken, maar ik was een enorme angsthaas. Dat is niet gek, als je je bedenkt hoe ik totaal onverwacht uit mijn zwervende bestaan werd gehaald. Doodeng was het, die nieuwe omgeving. Maarre… sorry dat ik zo naar jullie heb geblazen. Want ik moet bekennen, hierbinnen met jullie is het echt veel leuker. Al die aandacht is geweldig! Ik kan mijn geluk niet op aan al die heerlijke kriebels. Ik zou daar wel meer van willen. Daarom doe ik deze oproep: HEERLIJK HUIS GEZOCHT VOOR EEN LOYALE VRIEND. Met alle plezier vertel ik iets meer over mezelf. Ik ben een vriendelijke kater van respectabele leeftijd. Het is niet netjes om naar mijn leeftijd te vragen. Meer wil ik hier niet over kwijt, dus toen hebben ze mijn geboortedatum geschat op 1-11-2017. Helaas is gebleken dat ik FIV heb en positief getest ben op pseudonomas. FIV is vergelijkbaar met HIV bij mensen, het voorstadium van aids. Dat wil niet zeggen dat ik aids zal krijgen. Ik ben alleen wat gevoeliger voor infecties omdat mijn weerstand lager is, maar met goede verzorging kan ik nog prima wat jaren mee. FIV is niet besmettelijk voor mensen of andere dieren, alleen voor katten. Normaal gesproken zou ik dan met een andere kat met FIV geplaatst mogen worden. Maar vanwege de pseudonomas kan ik niet bij andere dieren en mag ik niet vrij buiten lopen. Een kniesoor die daar op let, want ik zie alleen maar voordelen dat ik alle aaitjes helemaal voor mezelf heb. Voor de pseudonomas heb ik overigens een behandeling gekregen. Ik voel me weer helemaal de oude. Het is alleen onbekend of ik nog last heb van pseudonomas omdat een nieuwe test geen betrouwbaar beeld geeft vanwege mijn FIV. Het is daarom goed om te weten dat pseudonomas wordt overgedragen via snot. Voor mensen met een goede gezondheid is dit geen probleem. Ga je op bezoek bij mensen met zwakkere katten of bij iemand die ziek is of een zwak immuunsysteem heeft, dan is het belangrijk dat je er “schoon” heen gaat.
