Vecna

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 7 years

Say hello to Vecna! Vecna is a 7 year old, 13.2hh, palomino, Welsh, gelding who is ready to find his home as a non-ridden companion. Vecna is a very sweet lad who is eager to learn, he can become distracted easily and would benefit from short handling/educating sessions within a routine to continue his learning. Vecna is looking for an experienced home who understands he has been cut late, someone who is able to give him a consistent routine with some one on one attention. Vecna can be nervous of new places and does settle down once he has been in a routine, he would like his new fosterer to allow him time to settle in and get to know his new environment and field friend. Vecna has a lot of love to give and is a stunning chap! Stabling/Shelter Companionship Forage & Feed Feet & Teeth Vices Vet & Medication Stabling/Shelter: Vecna is currently living out 24/7 with access to a field shelter, he has been housed alone with others in sight and has also been in a small herd of geldings. He will stable with a friend close by. Companionship: Vecna has been cut late and would benefit from not being around mares, he would like to live with a passive but confident friend as Vecna can be pushy at times, especially if the other horse is also pushy. Forage/Feed: Vecna is currently on 24/7 sparse grazing to monitor his weight, he also has an all in one supplement daily. Medication: N/A Farrier: Vecna is barefoot and trimmed every 6-8 weeks, he can be unsure of his hind feet and become tense with this, a quiet farrier would benefit him along with consistent feet picking out. Dentist: Sedated as standard Bransby Horses procedure. Vices: N/A Vet: Vecna is generally good for the vet, he can be unsure to start with and would benefit from an understanding vet. About Vecna

What life with Vecna looks like

Vecna is a small adult mixed breed horse waiting at Bransby Horses Rescue & Welfare in Lincoln.

Adopting a horse is a long-term commitment that almost always requires either land or a boarding stable. The shelter will discuss the horse's training level, vet history, and what kind of work or companionship they're suited for. Expect ongoing costs: feed, farrier, vet, and stabling.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Vecna, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Vecna?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Bransby Horses Rescue & Welfare handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Vecna on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Vecna if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Bransby Horses Rescue & Welfare will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Vecna already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most horses on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Vecna isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Bransby Horses Rescue & Welfare early rather than rehoming privately; they know Vecna and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
