Nie polecamy adopcji kociąt do domu, w którym są małe dzieci. Kociaki dopiero uczą się z jaką siłą można używać pazurków i ząbków, co często powoduje zadrapania i ranki. Jest to najczęstszą przyczyną zwrotów z adopcji. W przypadku tak młodych zwierząt należy być przygotowanym na naukę wszystkiego od podstaw.
