VENUS

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Adult · 6 years

Please read our Homing Criteria BEFORE applying for any of our dogs.BREED: CorgiSEX: Female (Neutered)AGE: Aprox. 6 YearsSIZE: MediumLovely Venus has come to us from a breeder who no longer has a need for her. She has never lived in a home so will find the transition to home life a little challenging, so her new family will need to be kind & gentle with her while she finds her paws She’s always lived with other dogs so we would not want her to go to a home on her own, she needs a calm & confident canine to be her friend She’s a shy girl, trying her best to be the brave, confident dog we know us inside her When a dog moves into a new home, they need time and consideration to help them feel confident and settled. They are having to adjust to a totally different environment, with new people and new challenges, and when one adopts a rescue dog, one must be ready to help them through not just the first few days, but for as long as it takes for them to feel comfortable in their new life. They are relying on their new owners to teach them the house rules and all about the new world they are living in. They are likely to need and benefit from dog training classes, and may also need behavioural help and the adopter may need to seek professional advice. If you are considering adopting, please be very sure that you are committed to the needs of your new friend, as they will be relying on you and their life and happiness is literally in your hands. This will last for their lifetime, so please also take an honest look at your age and activity levels and ensure that you are likely to be able to meet their ongoing needs. Please fill in our Application Form if you are interested in adopting this dog(If the animal’s name does not appear in the drop down box on the form - it means the animal is already reserved)

About VENUS

What life with VENUS looks like

VENUS is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at DBARC Animal Rescue Centre in United Kingdom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting VENUS, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about VENUS?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. DBARC Animal Rescue Centre handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw VENUS on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt VENUS if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — DBARC Animal Rescue Centre will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is VENUS already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if VENUS isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with DBARC Animal Rescue Centre early rather than rehoming privately; they know VENUS and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
