Venya (Веня)

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

Meet Vanya!🐾❤️Our volunteer told us Vanya's story: "The little guy appeared in our yard late at night. He tried to hide in the entrance, but a kind aunt and her grandson chased him away, not letting him enter the building... But deep into the night, when everyone was asleep, he still managed to sneak into the entrance and quietly fell asleep at my door... I opened the door at 6:30 am and saw a small, trembling red ball, curled up on my doormat... Of course, I couldn't leave him, he looked so lost and unhappy... Vanya was rushed to the clinic for a checkup (I saw fresh wounds and many bruises on his skin). The little guy is about 2 years old, healthy, gets along with dogs, loves people. He doesn't make noise for no reason." This little furry miracle is now looking for a family in Latvia.))The foster care describes Vanya only positively. He is dignified, loves to bathe and is not afraid of the hair dryer. He also loves being petted and held in his arms. Judging by his fur and character - Vanya's ancestors were probably poodles! Come and meet him!❤️ Vanya is neutered.Weight ~ 9 kgBirth date: 29.05.2024Chip number: 963002100162*** Curators:📞 +(371) 29 548 089 Inga📞+(371) 26 553 924 Marina

About Venya (Веня)

What life with Venya (Веня) looks like

Venya (Веня) is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Daylapu in Latvia.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇱🇻Adopting from Latvia

The shelter typically completes the animal's vaccinations, microchipping, and pet passport before adoption. Specific fees and process details vary by shelter and country — confirm directly via the contact details in the sidebar.

Frequently asked

Adopting Venya (Веня), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Venya (Веня)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Daylapu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Venya (Веня) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Venya (Веня) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Daylapu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Venya (Веня) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Venya (Веня) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Daylapu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Venya (Веня) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (RU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
