Vermittlungshilfe für Johnny

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 5 years

We do not know Johnny personally, therefore all inquiries please directly to Born: ca. 2014, male, neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, size currently: 40 cm, weight currently: 17 kg fellow animals: yes; cats: yes Johnny is leaving his family as he has become increasingly resource-protective. This is dangerous with a small child. He has lived with his current family for 5 years but originally came from what is known as the international animal welfare. He is in top condition (a complete check-up by the vet was last done in January 2025), enjoys going for walks, and walks super well on a loose leash. He is content with small to medium walks. Staying home alone is no problem for him at all. Driving is also super, but he only gets stressed if he has to drive in an unfamiliar car, then he pants extremely, so he needs some time to get used to it. In his current home, there are no cats, but according to his first owner, he lived well with cats and other animals. -12 .gallery-item { border: 2px solid ; -12 .gallery-caption { Johnny has a lot of running room in the garden and often looks for mice there. One wishes for Johnny a place where he is not restricted and can enjoy many cuddles, which he loves. He is used to regular off-leash play with dogs and gets along with all dogs. In his family, he lives with a second dog and claims the top position for himself. Another quirk of Johnny is that he claims and defends his resources, potentially everything he finds belongs to him. He may defend this against both humans and dogs. Therefore, small children should not live with him. Johnny loves toys, with which he can be made very happy. Johnny is a very special dog and quickly wins everyone over! Johnny can be visited and met in his current home (13 km from Trier).

About Vermittlungshilfe für Johnny

What life with Vermittlungshilfe für Johnny looks like

Vermittlungshilfe für Johnny is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierhilfe Rhein-Hunsrück e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Vermittlungshilfe für Johnny, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Vermittlungshilfe für Johnny?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierhilfe Rhein-Hunsrück e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Vermittlungshilfe für Johnny on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Vermittlungshilfe für Johnny if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierhilfe Rhein-Hunsrück e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Vermittlungshilfe für Johnny already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Vermittlungshilfe für Johnny isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierhilfe Rhein-Hunsrück e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Vermittlungshilfe für Johnny and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
