Adopt Viccy

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 9 years

Hello there! I am Viccy, a charming middle-aged female dog from Romania. Unfortunately, the circumstances that led me to this shelter are quite sad. My dear human passed away, and I lost my home. But I am grateful for having found shelter here, giving me a roof over my head. Although life at the shelter is good, I still long for a family of my own. I absolutely adore humans and am incredibly friendly and open to everyone, whether they are trusted individuals or strangers; I welcome everyone into my heart instantly. Contrary to my somewhat rounder figure now, I prefer cuddles over treats, which are unfortunately scarce here. This means I spend most of my time sleeping and eating, leading to some extra pounds settling around my hips. However, I am certain that with a bit more activity, I can quickly regain my beach body. If you're looking for a soul who can accompany you through your life, someone you can take on lovely walks in the forest and enjoy cozy evenings at home with, then might I just be the perfect match? If you are interested in Viccy, please fill out our inquiry form () or send us an email at or message us on Facebook. Viccy is ready to travel and can depart for Germany with the next transport. Our dogs travel legally via Traces, which is the database system used to monitor all animal transportation within the EU. The dogs travel neutered (if old enough), vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed, and have an EU passport. Additionally, for dogs over 12 months of age, a quick test is done before travel to check for Mediterranean diseases such as Lyme disease, Anaplasmosis, Ehrlichiosis, Heartworm, and Leishmaniasis. Silvia R. has taken over the sponsorship for Viccy and ensures that she always has a full food dish. Thank you very much on behalf of all the dogs! our shelter.

Steckbrief Alter: ca. 2017 geboren. Geschlecht: weiblich.

About Viccy

What life with Viccy looks like

Viccy is a medium-sized senior mixed breed dog waiting at Seelen für Seelchen e.V. in Alfter.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Viccy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Viccy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Seelen für Seelchen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Viccy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Viccy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Seelen für Seelchen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Viccy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Viccy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Seelen für Seelchen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Viccy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
